Den rechten Seitenflügel der Triptychons »Großstadt« gestaltet Otto Dix als Straßenflucht, die rechts von fantastischer Architektur begrenzt wird. Eine Schar ebenso ausgefallen gekleideter Prostituierte bevölkert die Straße. Sie bieten mit ihrer Extravaganz ihre kurzzeitigen Liebesdienste feil. So deutet ihre Anführerin links vorne unverhohlen auf die fließende Öffnung ihres roten Kleides. Sie mutet wie die Übereinanderreihung mehrerer Vulven an. Gerade das Obszöne macht den Reiz der Figurengruppe aus. Doch die Kunden fehlen, zumindest auf dem Bild. Am Boden rechts sitzt lediglich ein beinloser Kriegsversehrter im Zivilanzug und hält seine rechte Hand zum Gruß an die Schläfe seines zusammengeflickten Gesichts. So verwundert es nicht, dass die vorderste der Frauen uns Betrachter:innen herausfordernd ansieht. Wir werden zu Teilnehmern der Straßenszene. Mit seiner fast mondänen Atmosphäre ist der rechte Flügel des »Großstadt«-Triptychons das Gegenbild zur ärmlichen linken Tafel. Mit seiner feinen Malweise, den leuchtenden Farben und der beißenden Gesellschaftssatire gilt das Triptychon als eines von Dix‘ Hauptwerken.
